Die Deutsch-Indische Arbeitsgruppe Qualitätsinfrastruktur traf sich am 17. und 18. Januar 2019 in Berlin zu ihrer 6. Jahressitzung. Das Treffen diente der Berichterstattung über die Arbeit der Arbeitsgruppe sowie der Vereinbarung neuer Themen und Jahresziele für 2019. Neben dem indischen Verbraucherschutzministerium waren das indische Ministerium für Schwerindustrie, die indische Normungsbehörde (BIS) sowie von deutscher Seite nachgeordnete Behörden, Fachinstitutionen sowie Industrieverbände und -unternehmen an der Arbeitsgruppe beteiligt.

From manufacturing, healthcare, smart home to interconnected vehicles, cyber security solutions are needed that prevent negative impacts for people’s health and privacy, business activities, the environment, and national security. Given the international relevance of IoT device security, India and Germany collaborate on effective responses by the public and private sectors.

Pawlowska, Project Head for Data Protection at the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) giving an overview of data protection certification in the context of the GDPR and the status of implementation in Germany (by video conferencing). Based on her presentation, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the next steps for a closer collaboration between India and Germany.

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the event “Drive Forward Together: Indo–German Cooperation in the Automotive Sector”. Representatives from the German Embassy in New Delhi and the Indian Ministry for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution will officially launch the publication “Automobile and Component Exports to India: Overview of technical market access challenges for the German automotive industry in India”. The publication provides information to industry and private organisations from India and Germany on the regulatory landscape in India concerning the automotive sector. The publication also provides recommendations and way forward in key areas of technical market access for German automotive manufacturers. Electric mobility especially standards and regulations, which is of growing importance for India’s future transportation system will be another highlight of the event.
