Herr Liu Ke, deputy head of CCAI, warmly welcomed the German guests and introduced the CCAI. Afterwards, a presentation of the CCAI study “How Certification and Accreditation Contribute to China’s Social and Economic Development” was given and questions of the German delegation were answered in detail. Subsequently, Dr. Schultes explained BAM’s responsibilities, areas of expertise and its links with BMWi. Special attention was paid to BAM’s Quality Infrastructure Department, which performs tasks similar to those of CCAI including the undertaking of studies.

Both sides exchanged opinions on cooperation possibilities. Dr. Schultes endorsed the idea of conducting a German study on the same issue as suggested by the Chinese side. In conclusion, Schultes expressed his confidence that the academic exchange between the institutions will help to intensify Sino-German cooperation in the fields of certification and accreditation.
