Mexico

At this year´s Preparatory Meeting for the Annual Meeting of the German-Mexican Working Group Quality Infrastructure stakeholders discussed their interests - an important step for elaborating the Work Plan 2021.

More than 40 representatives from German QI institutions and the industry joined this year’s virtual Preparatory Meeting for the Annual Meeting of the German-Mexican Working Group Quality Infrastructure on 22 October 2020 with the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). Together, they identified relevant topics and derived proposals for the Work Plan 2021. This document will be signed during the Annual Meeting in December.

The German stakeholders expressed their opinions to the BMWi about barriers to trade and challenges they might face in their respective fields of work. They raised different issues from machinery safety, e-mobility and safety devices for vehicles, to electrical medical devices, as well as digitisation and Industrie 4.0 topics, among others. Most importantly, they reaffirmed their strong interest in working hand in hand with GPQI Mexico to promote further developments on such key topics.

The next important step will be the Annual Meeting of the German-Mexican Working Group Quality Infrastructure in December 2020. Participating in this close exchange, the stakeholders strengthen the bilateral cooperation between Mexico and Germany regarding Quality Infrastructure.

Registration for the Annual Meeting will soon be available on the GPQI website.
