On 12 January 2015, German and Chinese experts gathered in Frankfurt to discuss the next steps in the harmonization of safety labelling of B2B products.

Representatives from the local Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureaus (CIQ) from Shanghai and Suzhou travelled to Germany for this event and presented on the newest developments in the implementation and control of safety labelling for Chinese products from the CCC-product catalogue (China Compulsory Certification) as well as in standardization procedures and revisions of technical requirements for products in China. Other presentations by German and Chinese experts primarily focused on the sample products, which were decided in the first workshop in Nanjing in March 2014, namely lithium-ion batteries and surge protection devices.

Afterwards. the representatives of the German ZVEI (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e.V.), the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE), the companies Miele, Phoenix Contact, Harting and others, discussed potential solutions for the simplification of product labelling procedures. These will be further developed by the experts cooperatively. The next exchange workshop between Chinese and German experts to align the results is planned for the summer of 2015 in China.
