From 25 to 1 November 2014, representatives of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) and the Research Institute of Chemical Industry (SRICI) traveled to Germany on a study tour organized by the QI Project. The delegation met with representatives of German authorities and testing bodies to learn about GLP inspections in Germany and to further the bilateral exchange on GLP.

In Berlin, the delegation visited Germany’s National Accreditation Body (DAkkS) to engage in exchange on accreditation of testing and certification bodies as well as the implementation of round robin tests (PTP). Afterwards, the delegation traveled to Mainz to the MSD Animal Health Innovation GmbH and participated in a two-day GLP-inspection, which has to take place three times a year. Subsequently, the delegation met with representatives of the Ministry of the Environment, Agriculture, Nutrition, Winery and Forestry of Rheinland-Pfalz (MULEWF) to learn about the monitoring system of GLP-laboratories on the federal government and federal state level. The last station of the tour was in Frankfurt, where the delegation was guided through the testing bodies of Merz Pharma Gmbh and Bayer AG.

During the trip, the Chinese delegation was particularly interested in the handling of management, training and registration systems of GLP-laboratories in Germany.
