10th Meeting of Sino-German Sub-Working Group on Industrie 4.0 / Intelligent Manufacturing

German and Chinese government representatives, experts and further stakeholders virtually discussed future topics and shared milestones at the plenary meeting of the Sino-German Sub-Working Group Industrie 4.0 / Intelligent Manufacturing on 15 October 2020.

The Sino-German Sub-Working Group Industrie 4.0 / Intelligent Manufacturing held its 10th plenary meeting on 15 October 2020 - this time through a virtual format. The delegations were composed of representatives of the German and Chinese governments, national standardisation organisations, research institutes, technical organisations, and enterprises.

 

Mr. Ernst Stöckl-Pukall, Director of Division IVA3 Digitisation, Industrie 4.0 at the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), and Dr. Jens Gayko, Managing Director of the Standardization Council Industrie 4.0 (SCI 4.0) led the German delegation. The Chinese delegation was headed by Mr. YE Meng, Director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Division, Department of Equipment and

Manufacturing Industries I in the Ministry of Industry and

Information Technology of P.R. China (MIIT).

 

Despite special circumstances under COVID19, a regular exchange between the members of the technical expert groups as well as the coordinators of the Sub-Working Group by Intelligent Manufacturing Standardization Administration Group and SCI 4.0 has been continued throughout the year to achieve progress for all key areas.

 

The objective of the 10th meeting was to further strengthen the cooperation on Industrie 4.0/Intelligent Manufacturing. Coordination and alignment of the mutually agreed topics are advancing continuously. During the meeting, leading experts presented their milestones and anticipated activities. These included IT Security, Functional Safety, Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Applications and Digital Twin / Administration Shell. Other relevant topics were Network Communications and Edge Computing, Predictive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring, as well as Use Cases and Applications.

 

The next meeting of the Sub-Working Group will take place in Bonn, Germany in June 2021 in the scope of the 9th annual meeting of the Sino-German Standardisation Cooperation Commission.
