Policy Monitoring: China issued Guidelines for the Annual Major Work

On 22 May 2020, the annual government work report for 2020 was published at the so-called "Two Sessions" of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). The State Council issued relevant guidelines on 6 June for the implementation designating specific ministries responsible for each priority area.

On 22 May 2020, the annual government work report was published at the so-called "two sessions" of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). In order to implement the major tasks for 2020 set out in the work report, the State Council issued relevant guidelines on 6 June 2020. The guidelines designate specific ministries responsible for each priority area.

 

Relevant tasks that were assigned to the political partners of GPQI China include 8 (out of 9) areas, namely main tasks and overall planning, stabilization of companies and the employment situation, stimulation of activities by market participants, internal market expansion and adjustments regarding approaches promoting growth, poverty alleviation, stabilization of international trade and foreign investment, national life and social economy enterprise, ethnic minorities, religions, overseas Chinese and state defense.
